SCC Theatre to hold open auditions for spring projects
The Somerset Community College Theatre Department will hold auditions for the spring events on Monday, December 3, in Stoner Little Theatre. Directors will be considering talent for the winter Reader’s Theatre performance to be presented on February 22 and for the spring play production, Bedtime Stories, to be presented on April 17, 18 and 19. Sign-ins for the auditions will begin at 6:30 pm. Auditions begin promptly at 7:00 pm. An audition packet is available in the Fine Arts Office in Stoner Hall, Room 104.
SCC’s Reader’s Theatre is an evening of short sketches presented from scripts to a live audience. This presentation requires no line memorization and is an excellent forum for someone interested in trying their hand at performing for the first time or for experienced actors, who want to hone their craft. There will be one to two weeks of rehearsals for this presentation before its performance on February 22nd.
Bedtime Stories is an evening of short plays that were inspired by well-known stories. Approximately 12 actors are needed to fill roles in such delightful short plays as A. A. Milne’s The Ugly Duckling and Mark Twain’s The Diaries of Adam and Eve. Bedtime Stories will begin rehearsals in March and will be performed in the Stoner Hall Little Theatre on April 17, 18 and 19.
