SCC Student Ambassadors Receive Training in Customer Service

The Somerset Community College Student Ambassadors a training class conducted by Jim Holton on Friday, Jan. 9, on the SCC Somerset Campus North. Topics covered include: teamwork, leadership skills, communication skills, image and accountability.

SCC’s Student Ambassadors represent and promote the College at various campus and community events. They also assist with recruiting efforts, conduct campus tours and provide information about SCC to prospective students, school groups and the general public.

In order to become an SCC Student Ambassador students must: Maintaining a 3.0 grade point average; be enrolled at SCC in fall 2009 and spring 2010 as full-time or part-time student; possess excellent communication skills; maintain a positive attitude, be dependable; have the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds; have the time to fully participate in the program; and must be a student who will represent SCC in a positive manner.

The college is currently accepting applications for ambassadors for the 2009-2010 school year. The deadline is April 15, 2009.
