McCreary Center of SCC to host Open House for students Aug. 13
McCreary Center of Somerset Community College to host Open House Aug. 13 from 2 to 6 p.m.
The McCreary Center of Somerset Community College will host an Open House on Thursday, August 13th from 2:00-6:00.
According to Gayle Borders, the McCreary Center Director, the purpose of the Open House will be to help students get everything set up prior to their first class.
Borders said the staff of the McCreary Center will help students to set up their College e-mail addresses and help them learn how to access Peoplesoft, where they can check their grades and other important information.
The Open House will also help students learn to access the SCC Library Electronic Data Bases. The data base contains many online publications to assist students with their assignments and help reduce the need to travel to the SCC Library in Somerset.
For those McCreary Center students taking online classes, this will be an opportunity to learn how to use Blackboard, which will be an important part of their online class.
“This is an opportunity for our students to give themselves a head start as school begins. I urge them to take advantage of this Open House,” Borders added.
Refreshments will be served.
