“It’s easy to be green: Exploring nature’s colors,” is the theme for this year’s Somerset Community College photography club contest. The contest, hosted by SCC’s Fruit of the Lens photography club, is accepting entries now until April 12 at midnight.
Each contest entry must include the color green somewhere in the image and submitted photos should have been taken in south-central Kentucky.
Monetary prizes for first, second and third place will be offered by SCC’s PRIDE club. First place will receive $50, second place $25 and third place $15. There will also be certificates of honorable mention.
Winners will be notified and recognized at SCC/East Kentucky PRIDE Earth Day Celebration on Sunday, April 21 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration will be held at SCC’s Somerset Campus. There is no admission charge for this event and everyone is invited to attend.
Each submission should to be approximately 1MB in size, and contain no watermarks, names or time stamps. Professional photographers cannot enter and photos manipulated in programs such as Photoshop will be disqualified. (Normal image adjustments are acceptable).
Each person entering may submit up to three images and there is no age limit. Fruit of the Lens members who enter the contest will not be eligible to take part in the judging.
Submissions will be accepted until Friday, April 12 at 11:59 p.m.
Entries should be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. Subject line for each entry should be “Spring Photo Contest” and email should contain a name for the photo and contact information of the photographer.
