Master Advising

Master Advising is the entry point for most new students coming to Maysville Community and Technical College. Students meet with a trained advisor who enjoys working with first year students. Below is a checklist to serve as a guide for the new student.

MCTC New Student Checklist

___1. Apply for admissions at the MCTC website

Select Apply now in the upper right hand corner.

___2. Request your high school transcripts or GED

Your high school must mail these documents to (GED recipients may request copies at http://kyae.ky.gov/students:

___3. Financial Aid - Complete the financial aid form online. MCTC School code: 006960

___4. College Entrance Exam (COMPASS) - Schedule an appointment for the COMPASS placement test if your ACT scores are below 18 in Reading or English or below 19 in Math in the Testing Center at the following campuses:

Developmental courses are offered for students who need assistance in English, Mathematics, and Reading to help students progress toward academic goals. Students can also raise their COMPASS by working with our Adult Education staff. Find out more about our Adult Education Program.

Refer to the academic calendar for the last day to pay tuition.

For an online course, logon during the first week to avoid becoming subject to cancellation.
