Bookstore Charge Dates

If purchasing books in person, the charge dates begin August 6, 2012. You do not need a paper voucher to charge books IF you have a Financial Aid Release (FAR) form on file and your aid is complete. You can check your self service to view awards, schedule, and bill for tuition. If your aid amount is larger than your tuition amount AND you have a FAR on file, you are eligible to charge books. You will have to have an official copy of your schedule and a photo ID (such as a drivers license).

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Where to Locate and Purchase Your Textbooks Online

You may locate and purchase your textbooks online conveniently 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year at the following locations:

• www.yourschoolyourbookstore.com (for textbooks needed for online classes offered through all KCTCS institutions)
• SCC Somerset Bookstore website (for items available at the local bookstore - textbooks, apparel, supplies, etc)
• SCC Laurel Bookstore website (for items available at the local bookstore - textbooks, apparel, supplies, etc)

Need some extra cash?

The Somerset Community College Bookstore offers buy-back on Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

We have two major buy-backs at the Somerset Campus. The buy-backs are held during spring semester and fall semester final exam weeks.

Extended hours will be posted on the bookstore website.

The Somerset Community College Bookstore, operated by Barnes & Noble Booksellers, offers:

Bookstore Tips

• Buy used books, save 25%.
• If you are using financial aid to purchase your books, you must have completed a Financial Aid Release (FAR) Form that authorizes the bookstore to charge your textbooks to your financial aid.
• When using financial aid or a third party vendor to purchase your textbooks, you must present your Student ID and schedule.
• When selling back your textbooks, you are required to show a driver's license.
