Meet Doyle

My role at Somerset Community College: I am the radiography program coordinator. In addition to my administrative duties as the program coordinator I teach Image Production & Acquisition, Radiation Protection & Biology, Radiographic Equipment & Physics, Basic CT, Special procedures, and online courses in Sectional Anatomy, and CT Physics & Instrumentation.

How long I’ve worked here: Since May, 2003.

Why I do what I do: I have always loved school and at a young age I stumbled into the profession of radiography, which I found equally fulfilling. After more than twenty years working in the field and continuing my education, I was fortunate to be able to combine both my passions of school and radiography, when I was provided the opportunity to teach radiography here at Somerset Community College. 

My teaching philosophy: Successful teaching involves being an effective learner, acknowledging the different types of learners, and having a passion for what you teach.

I like our students because: I am fortunate to teach in a program where students spend twenty-one months, allowing me the opportunity to get to know my students and to see the changes in their lives that an education brings.

   

A little more about me: I was born and raised in this area. My long college educational career began right here at Somerset Community College back in the summer of 1979. It is ironic how a long and winding path can lead you right back where you started with unexpected outcomes.
