Radiography

ATTENTION:

Classes begin in August for new students accepted into the radiography program each year. Students interested in applying to the program must attend a pre-admission conference during the spring semester in which they apply. Students in attendance will receive an informational packet which includes an application. Please note that students need to attend a conference to obtain an application.Pre-registration is not required for conferences. Please contact program faculty for more information concerning the application process.

If a student applied to the program or attended a pre-admission conference in the past, the student must still attend a pre-admission conference THIS semester and submit a new application and other necessary information to be considered for acceptance.

This program prepares the individual to become a radiographer. Emphasis is on radiation protection and quality patient care. The curriculum is comprised of specialized courses in radiography along with concentrated studies in the basic sciences, mathematics, and general education.

What can I do with this degree?

The Radiography Program prepares graduates to administer ionizing radiation for medical diagnostic imaging purposes. Graduates are prepared to take the American Registry of Radiologic Technology Examination. Radiographers may find positions in hospitals, health clinics, and physicians’ offices. Research laboratories and some industrial firms also employ radiographers.

Potential candidates are recommended to the President by the Radiography Admissions Committee. The Admissions Committee will make their recommendations based on the following:

Upon admittance the student must submit the following materials prior to beginning clinical experiences.

Student Responsibilities

In addition to tuition, students are responsible for transportation to the various clinical sites, professional liability insurance, books, and uniforms. Any student seeking financial assistance should contact the Financial Aid Office.
